Norditropin Nordilet HGH Injection 10mg (30iu) Novo Nordisk Pack of 1.5ml/pen



Norditropin HGH injections are manufactured by Novo Nordisk Inc and are administered with either the FlexPro 5 mg/1.5 mL, 10 mg/1.5 mL or 15 mg/1.5 mL, or the Norditropin NordiFlex pen.

Norditropin Usage

Norditropin is used to treat adults with adult onset GHD or childhood onset GHD. It is also used in the treatment of children suffering from GHD that has led to failure to grow, small for gestational age, Prader-Willi syndrome, Idiopathic Short Stature and Turner syndrome.

Norditropin Administration and Dosage

  • Norditropin is administered subcutaneously. The injection sites should be rotated to avoid lipoatrophy.
  • Norditropin® is preloaded in the Norditropin NordiFlex® pens or is administered with the following Norditropin® FlexPro orange - 5 mg/1.5 mL, blue - 10 mg/1.5 mL, green - 15 mg/1.5 mL

Norditropin Doses

  • Adult GHDincrease as tolerated to a maximum of 0.016 mg/kg/day after approx. 6 weeks, or begin with a starting dose of approx. 0.2 mg/day (range, 0.15 to 0.30 mg/day) that you will increase gradually every 1 - 2 months at increments of approx. 0.1 - 0.2 mg/day.
  • Noonan Syndrome: Up to 0.066 mg/kg/day
  • Pediatric GHD: 0.024 to 0.034 mg/kg/day, 6 t- 7 times per week
  • SGA: Up to 0.067 mg/kg/day
  • Turner Syndrome: Up to 0.067 mg/kg/day

Norditropin Side Effects

Some side effects of Norditropin don’t generally need medical attention. These side effects often go away as your body adjusts to the hgh injections. Your doctor may be able provide you with ways to reduce some of these HGH side effects if they are bothersome.

Most Common

  • Body aches or pain
  • Breast pain
  • Change in the color, amount, or odor of vaginal discharge
  • Congestion
  • Discoloration of the fingernails or toenails
  • Dryness or soreness of the throat
  • Excess air or gas in the stomach or intestines
  • Frequent urge to defecate
  • Increased sweating
  • Passing gas
  • Rash
  • Sneezing
  • Straining while passing stool
  • Stuffy nose
  • Tender, swollen glands in neck
  • Trouble with swallowing
  • Voice changes

Less Common

  • Discouragement
  • Feeling sad or empty
  • Irritability
  • Lack of appetite
  • Loss of interest or pleasure
  • Sleeplessness
  • Tiredness
  • Trouble concentrating
  • Unable to sleep

The following are more serious side effects and you should see your doctor immediately.

  • Body aches or pain
  • Sugar in the urine
  • Dryness or soreness of the throat
  • Passing gas
  • Stuffy nose
  • Headache
  • High blood sugar
  • Joint pain/stiffness
  • Increased sweating
  • Muscle aches or cramps
  • Muscle pain or stiffness
  • Voice changes
  • Swollen hands/feet

Less Common

  • Bone/skeletal pain
  • Lack of appetite
  • Chest pain
  • Depressed mood
  • Sleeplessness
  • Feeling cold
  • Hoarseness
  • Slow heartbeat

The following are more serious side effects and you should see your doctor immediately.

  • Bleeding after defecation
  • Bloating of the face, hands/arms, lower legs/feet
  • Blood in the urine
  • Burning, itching, crawling, numbness, "pins and needles", tingling feelings, prickling
  • Cold flu-like symptoms
  • Cold hands and feet
  • Constipation
  • Cough or hoarseness
  • Decreased urination
  • Diarrhea
  • Dry mouth
  • Fainting
  • Fast heartbeat
  • Fever or chills
  • Full or bloated feeling
  • Increase in heart rate
  • Itching
  • Joint pain
  • Light-colored stools
  • Lightheadedness
  • Lower back or side pain
  • Muscle aching or cramping
  • Muscle pain or stiffness
  • Nausea
  • Pain
  • Pressure in the stomach
  • Rapid weight gain
  • Rectal bleeding
  • Shivering
  • Skin rash
  • Sore mouth or tongue
  • Sweating
  • Swelling of the abdominal or stomach area
  • Swelling of the eyes or eyelids
  • Swelling or puffiness of the face
  • Swollen joints
  • Tightness in the chest and/or wheezing
  • Trouble with breathing
  • Trouble with sleeping
  • Uncomfortable swelling around the anus
  • Unpleasant breath odor
  • Unusual tiredness or weakness
  • Unusual weight gain or loss
  • Vomiting of blood
  • Yellow eyes or skin

Less Common

  • Bone/skeletal pain
  • Chest pain
  • Depressed mood
  • Dry skin/hair
  • Feeling cold
  • Hair loss
  • Hoarseness
  • Slow heartbeat
  • Swelling of the ankles

Get emergency help immediately if any of the following symptoms of overdose occur while you are taking Norditropin as it can indicate pressure in the brain:

  • Anxiety
  • Blurred vision
  • Changes to your vision
  • Headache
  • Nausea
  • Vomiting

Important Safety Information

  • If you have a critical illness that’s the result of certain types of stomach surgery, heart surgery, breathing problems, trauma, cancer, sleep apnea, or tumors do not use Norditropin.
  • A child with Prader Willi syndrome that has breathing problems, sleep apnea, or is severely obese should not use Norditropin.
  • Brain tumors can cause a growth hormone deficiency, so the presence of these brain tumors should be ruled out before Norditropin treatment begins.
  • A small number of patients treated with HGH have suffered increased brain pressure that can cause headaches and vision problems. Treatment should be stopped.
  • If you have diabetes, have had cancer, are pregnant, plan to become pregnant, are breastfeeding, plan to breastfeed, or have any type of tumor tell your healthcare provider before taking Norditropin.
  • Those with Turner syndrome or Noonan syndrome should be monitored closely when using Norditropin as they are more at risk of developing congenital heart disease.
  • Norditropin can interact with other medications so make sure you talk to your health care provider about any over the counter medications, prescription medications, supplements or vitamins you are taking.
