Sibutramine hydrochloride is a selective serotonin and noradrenalin re-uptake inhibitor used for the medical management of obesity. This pharmaceutical is intended to be an adjunct to a reduced calorie diet, which will help increase weight loss compared to that achieved with modifying food intake alone.

Presentation 100 tablets, each tablet contains 20 mg Sibutramine Hydrochloride Monohydrate

Protection hologram with serial NO and verification code

The active substance is Sibutramine hydrochloride monohydrate. Each capsule contains 20mg of the substance.

Therapeutic use Sibutramine is in conjunction with a reduced-calorie diet and exercise recommended for patients with obesity. It helps reduce body weight by making you feel fuller longer after eating smaller amounts of food.

Features
Sibutramine is a serotonin and a norepinephrine reuptake inhibitor. It works by affecting neurotransmitter reuptake of 5-hydroxytryptamine (called serotonin) and noradrenaline into the nerve cells in the brain. Neurotransmitters are chemicals that allow nerve cells to communicate with each other. Blocking their reuptake sibutramine increases the amount of these neurotransmitters in the brain. Increased levels of neurotransmitters in the brain help patients feel after eating fuller and helps reduce their food intake.

Sibutramine, along with diet and exercise is used for patients with overweight with body mass index (BMI) greater or equal to 27 kg / m2, which are associated also with risk factors such as diabetes type II or dyslipidemia (abnormal level of fat in the blood).

It does not have addictive psychostimulant effects.

Dosage One capsule of Sibutramine 20mg once a day in the morning with a lot of fluids (e.g. water).

Side effects occur mainly at the beginning of the treatment during the first four weeks. Their frequency is decreasing by longer usage. They are usually not serious, they do not lead to termination of therapy and they are not permanent. Side effects include increased blood pressure, heart palpitations, dry mouth, constipation and headaches.
