Exemestan (also known as Aromasin) is a selective non-steroidal aromatase-inhibiting drug, medically used and approved by the FDA for the treatment of breast cancer in women, specifically in postmenopausal patients whose cancer has progressed following therapy with tamoxifen. It inhibits the enzyme aromatase, which is responsible for converting androgens to estrogen. Aromasin works by inhibiting the synthesis of estrogen up to 98 % !! and is even more effective than Anastrozole (Arimidex)

Exemestane (Aromasin) is very similar in structure and action to formestane, although it is significantly more potent in comparison. As a class of drugs, aromatase inhibitors offer an anti-estrogenic effect by blocking the enzyme responsible for synthesizing estrogens. Therefore male bodybuilders and athletes use Aromasin to counter the estrogenic side effects associated with the use of aromatizable anabolic/androgenic steroids. 

This may include gynecomastia, fat buildup, and water retention. In some instances aromatase inhibitors may also assist this group with the loss of body fat and increases in muscular definition. Exemestane is one of the most potent aromatase inhibitors presently available. The most commonly cited data reports a lowering of serum estrogen levels by 850/0 on average in clinical studies with women.

As an aromatase inhibitor, Aromasin's mechanism of action -- blocking conversion of aromatizable steroids to estrogen -- is in contrast to the mechanism of action of anti-estrogens such as Clomiphene (Klomen) or Tamoxifen (Nolvadex, Tadex), which block estrogen receptors in some tissues, and activate estrogen receptors in others. During a cycle, if using Aromasin, there is generally no need to use Klomen as well, but there may still be benefits to doing so.

It can be used during  the cycle as well as for the post cycle therapy. Normal use is 6,25 mg (a quarter tablet) every day  12,5 mg (a half tablet) all 2-3 days. This dosage is enough to inhibite 500-750mg/week testosterone to aromatize.
